A rematch years in the making headlines the UFC’s first trip to Manchester since 2016. Leon Edwards defends the UFC welterweight title against Belal Muhammad at UFC 304.

Edwards (22-3, 1 NC) joined the UFC in 2014 and is 14-2 with one no-contest in the octagon. He beat Kamaru Usman via a dramatic walk-off head kick in 2022 to win the UFC welterweight title. “Rocky” has defended the belt twice, his last fight in December. The 32-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since 2015.

Muhammad (23-3, 1 NC) hasn’t lost a fight since 2019. “Remember the Name” last competed a year ago, beating Gilbert Burns on two weeks’ notice. It is his first title fight in the UFC after dominating at welterweight.

Both competed in March 2021, their fight ending in a no-contest following an eye poke to Muhammad. Edwards landed 19 significant strikes, while Muhammad landed eight. Muhammad has called for a rematch for years and finally gets his wish. Edwards is ready to make Muhammad regret calling him out on social media all this time.

“People will say whatever they want to say, but my last full camp I knocked out Sean Brady. Gilbert Burns fight was a three weeks’ notice fight. So if we’re going off my last full camp, it was a knockout. This fight, I’m going to knock out Leon Edwards. We’ve been training for this guy for two years,” Muhammad told Sneako via MMA Junkie .

“Deluded, he’s talking a lot of s---, so make sure you can back it up,” Edwards told Red Corner MMA via MMA Junkie . “Like I said, he’s been off over a year. The way he talks is like he was winning the first fight, so a bit deluded. But like I said, he best be ready. It’s going to be a long, hard, tough fight for him in Manchester.”

The co-main event will see Tom Aspinall defend the interim UFC heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes. Aspinall (14-3) and Blaydes (18-4, 1 NC) last fought in July 2022, where Aspinall injured his knee 15 seconds into the fight.

Since then, Aspinall has won two straight, beating Sergei Pavlovich to win the interim belt . Blaydes lost against Pavlovich but knocked out Jailton Almeida in his last fight.
