The Boston Red Sox have struggled so far after the All-Star break, getting swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers and losing two of three to the Colorado Rockies.

Despite the recent issues, Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has picked a direction for his club ahead of the upcoming MLB trade deadline which is just days away.

“At some point, we need to stop with the stupid analogies and put the turn signal on," Breslow said (via. The Boston Globe ). "We’ve played really good baseball for the last few months. We’ve put ourselves in this position where we’re going to look to improve the team. That’s where we would want to be… In a perfect world, we can improve our 2024 team and also our ‘25 and beyond. That’s my job. But I think as things stand right now, we’re looking for ways to improve the club.”

The best way to improve the club is by buying and adding to the roster. Now, Breslow will just have to target the right players and pull the trigger.

This rough stretch for Boston hasn't significantly impacted their chances of making the postseason, so they should add a piece or two to prevent those losses from piling up and keeping them out of the dance.
