Caleb Farley's latest injury could be final blow to end Titans tenure

Few, if any players on the Tennessee Titans needed a stronger showing at training camp and during the preseason than cornerback Caleb Farley after three incredibly tough seasons to start his career.

On top of ineffective play when on the field, Farley, who had his fifth-year option declined, has also dealt with some major injuries , which put him on the chopping block for a roster spot this offseason.

In what is the latest blow for the 2021 first-round pick, head coach Brian Callahan revealed on Thursday that Farley will miss a few weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Farley exited practice last week with the hamstring issue. He managed to return on Wednesday but his return was short-lived, as he exited early once again .

Farley was buried on the team's first unofficial depth chart , with the Titans listing him as the No. 3 at one of the boundary cornerback spots behind Chidobe Awuzie and Tre Avery.

That means he's very much in danger of being cut, which is why this injury news is particularly devastating for the oft-injured cornerback.

He desperately needed to play meaningful snaps during the exhibition slate in order to give himself a chance to make the roster, but now it remains to be seen if he'll be able to suit up in the preseason at all.

And, if that's the case, there is simply no way the Titans can trust him with a roster spot, dead money be damned.
