After securing an 88-74 victory over Nigeria in the quarterfinals, Team USA will next face Australia in the semifinals with a spot in the gold medal game on the line. In the win over Nigeria, A'ja Wilson led Team USA with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Jackie Young added 15 points in her first start at these Olympic Games.
Australia beat Serbia, 85-67, in the quarterfinals, led by Alanna Smith with 22 points and 13 rebounds. With New York Liberty coach Sandy Brondello at the helm, the Opals are looking for their first Olympic medal since taking bronze in 2012.
