Who is Las Vegas Raiders' worst NFL Draft pick of the last five years?

The Las Vegas Raiders have had a tough time in the earlier rounds of the draft over the past handful of years, as six of the team's last eight first-round draft choices are no longer on the current roster. Additionally, five of those players failed to receive a second contract with the team.

The Raiders' decision-making in the early rounds of the draft has been poor, but who is the team's worst draft pick in the last five years?

Though Alex Leatherwood would be a popular choice, Pro Football Network's Nick Faria believes former Clemson edge rusher Clelin Ferrell was even worse. Here is what Faria had to say about the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Clelin Ferrell’s draft selection was seen as a major reach at the time, and it was only proved to be right in just a single season. The Clemson product hasn’t recorded over five sacks in a season in his career and is on his third NFL team now.

Ferrell is one of the bigger busts in Raiders' history, as the 27-year-old totaled just ten sacks in four seasons and left the team during the 2023 offseason to sign with the San Francisco 49ers. Though the selection of Ferrell was abysmal, drafting Alex Leatherwood was one of the most incompetent decisions in recent NFL history.

Most analysts projected Leatherwood to be a mid to late Day 2 pick, but Las Vegas decided to reach on the Alabama offensive tackle with the No.17 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The 25-year-old had an awful rookie campaign, allowing eight sacks and 65 QB pressures while playing right guard. Leatherwood failed to bounce back after a horrid rookie season and was released by the team before the start of the 2022 campaign.

Though Ferrell's Raiders tenure was disappointing, he played four seasons with the club and was serviceable at times. Leatherwood didn't even last two seasons in Las Vegas and was consistently one of the worst players on the field.

Both selections were terrible and still haunt the Raiders to this day, but Leatherwood was slightly worse.
