With the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes nowhere near resolution, an ex-Super Bowl Champion and former AFC North wide receiver has been released.  Should the Browns pursue him?

JuJu Smith-Schuster, 27, was released by the New England Patriots.  He was the 62nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and played five seasons for the Steelers, making the All-Rookie Team in 2017 and the Pro Bowl in 2018.

Smith-Schuster landed in Kansas City in 2022 and picked up a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Chiefs.  He played last season with the Patriots.

He has over 5,000 career receiving yards and 30 touchdowns; the majority of those earned with the Steelers.  Since the Browns are in the market for a wide receiver, would Smith-Schuster be an option?

It is worth it for Andrew Berry to make some phone calls to learn more. His asking price will be considerably lower with the Patriots owing him $7 million fully guaranteed, according to Ari Meirov , and he is familiar with the AFC North.  Imagine a wide receiving room consisting of Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Elijah Moore.

Browns fans did not like Smith-Schuster for many reasons when he was with the Steelers especially because he uttered the famous "The Browns is the Browns comment" during the 2020 playoffs. Still, they would change their tune if he joined the Browns and played well just as they did last season with ex-Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.
