Game over: Brandon Aiyuk reportedly rejected Browns offer

ProFootball Talk and Matt Maiocco report that Brandon Aiyuk rejected the trade offer that would have made him a member of the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns offered the 49ers wide receiver Amari Cooper, second and fifth-round draft picks in exchange for Aiyuk.

Aiyuk's options are to stay with the 49ers or get a deal from the Steelers.  Aiyuk reportedly wants to play for the Steelers, but as Dianna Russini previously reported, the Steelers were not offering a wide receiver in exchange which was an issue for the 49ers.

ProFootball Talk speculates this information was leaked by the 49ers.  The Browns would not want it known that Amari Cooper was on the block, and Aiyuk would not want it to be public knowledge that he did not want to go to Cleveland especially if he ends up playing against Cleveland two times per season as a member of the Steelers.

Browns fans can put the Aiyuk saga to bed now knowing what has been believed for days.  If Aiyuk wanted to be a Brown, he would have already been one.
