The New York Yankees will host a split doubleheader Saturday for the second time in a week, this time against the Texas Rangers.

As the remnants of Hurricane Debby soaked the field at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees made the early decision to postpone Friday's game into a Saturday doubleheader.

As for the probable starting pitchers for the split, left-hander Carlos Rodon will get the call for the fist game starting at 1:05 p.m. ET.

It has been an up-and-down season for Rodon, who has a 12-7 record and a 4.37 ERA in 125.2 innings pitched. However, he has fared much better over his last four starts.

During that span, Rodon is 3-0 with a 3.18 ERA, 32 strikeouts, eight walks and a 0.97 WHIP across 22.2 innings.

Meanwhile, the Yankees will lean on ace Gerrit Cole for the second game Saturday afternoon. It, too, has been a rocky season for the reigning Cy Young winner as he works his way back from an elbow injury this spring.

In his five home starts this season, Cole is 1-1 with a 5.26 ERA, 29 strikeouts, six walks and a 1.40 WHIP across 25.2 innings.

The Yankees need Cole to find his form down the stretch as they look to make a run at the top spot in the division.
