The world's No. 1 featherweight Luis Alberto Lopez , A.K.A. Venado, makes the fourth defense of his IBF championship against former titleholder Angelo Leo at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on August 10. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action will air on ESPN+.

Lopez (30-2, 17 KOs) is rated No. 1 at 126 pounds by Ring Magazine . The Mexican star holds wins over Josh Warrington, Michael Conlan, Joet Gonzalez and Reiya Abe in world title fights, and credits his work ethic for the enormous success he's enjoyed at the top level.
"We always work on everything. We work on speed. We work on strength. We work on defense. We try to improve everything. I work really hard in the gym," said an energized Lopez at the final press conference.
"Angelo Leo is a former world champion. He wants to be a world champion again, so we expect the best version of him. It will be a war."
Leo (24-1, 11 KOs) is a seasoned and skilled opponent. At 30 years old, the former WBO super bantamweight champion is still in his prime, and his only setback came against talented American Stephen Fulton in 2021. The challenger has crosshairs locked on becoming a two-weight world champion on home soil.
"This means the world to me," said Leo. "Fighting back in my hometown is something I've always wanted. And what better way to do it than with a title shot?
"In my last fight, the main goal was to win. I knew everything else would fall into place with a Venado fight."
