The injury bug has already derailed things for Tua Tagovailoa’s Miami Dolphins offense this preseason.

While Jaylen Waddle’s injury took the limelight, a lesser-known injury that hit the unit was starting center Aaron Brewer leaving a recent training camp practice with a hand injury.

After Miami’s preseason opener on Friday, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel revealed that Brewer currently has a week-to-week designation. To make matters worse, at least right now, Miami’s best option is to consider moving the team’s top guard—Liam Eichenberg—to center. Keep in mind, too, Isaiah Wynn remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Considering the injury is to Brewer’s snapping hand, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson , one has to wonder how long this injury might linger and disrupt the timing and chemistry built by an offensive line during the summer.

In one of the team’s biggest offseason moves, the Dolphins brought on Brewer in free agency to start after losing Connor Williams—who just signed elsewhere . Now, even the fallback options are question marks for the offense as Tagovailoa practices without Odell Beckham Jr. and Waddle, too, making it worth wondering if the team might look to free agency or other means for help.
