The Pittsburgh Steelers saw their 2024 first-round pick and offensive tackle Troy Fautanu come down with a knee injury during the preseason Week 1 game versus the Houston Texans, but the specifics of the injury weren't immediately clear.

On Saturday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler is reporting that Fautanu has a minor MCL sprain and it's not considered serious. Fowler did not provide a timetable for Fautanu's return from the injury, though.

Fautanu got the start at right tackle in his preseason debut, playing multiple series. He did some good things in the run game but struggled in pass protection, giving up two sacks in the first quarter.

After the game, Fautanu was spotted with a brace on his knee but the injury wasn't thought to be serious at the time. Thankfully, that turned out to be the case.

Now, we'll have to wait and see how much time Fautanu will miss. Any absence means he'll miss valuable reps, which will no doubt hurt his bid for a starting job.
