ESPN's Malika Andrews submitted another example Monday of why she's considered among the best in the sports media world.

As an earthquake hit Los Angeles during a live taping of the Aug. 12 episode of "NBA Today," Andrews remained calm, cool and collected as she interviewed Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo from ESPN's LA studio. Andrews' reaction drew widespread praise across social media.

As the camera and studio shook, it was evident that something was amiss but Andrews was not thrown off by the seismic activity, instead checking on the welfare of everyone in the vicinity before resuming her interview as things returned to normal.

As Andrews prepared to ask Lobo about Team USA's eighth consecutive Olympic gold, some commotion could be heard as the earthquake seemingly began. Andrews quickly recognized what was happening and maintained her conversation with Lobo, the audience and the crew in the studio.

"We have a bit of an earthquake here in Los Angeles," Andrews said. "So we're just going to make that our studio lights — everything stays safe, everything shaking…"

Before getting back to the topic, Andrews checked in with camera operators and the production team before catching the audience up to speed and resuming the interview.

"Everybody good?" Andrews asked. "Thank you so much for bearing with us through that — our studio was shaking just a little bit … Everyone still good? Alright, so this is what I want to show you now, Rebecca, I appreciate you bearing with us here."

According to the U.S. Geological Service , Monday's event was a 4.4-magnitude quake on the Richter scale, which measures earthquakes from 1 to 10. Andrews' poise in the moment drew praise across social media, with comments coming from Lobo and CBS Sports' Aaron West, among others.

After the show, Andrews took to X (formerly Twitter), to say it was "Definitely a scary moment here in our LA studios. Thank you to our incredible staff and crew who stayed cool throughout! Stay safe, fellow Angelenos."

With the staff, crew and Andrews staying cool, the show went on with only a minor blip interrupting things for a few seconds.
