Thunder stars' role for 2028 Olympics

With the Olympic games officially coming to a close and Team USA taking home the gold, there is no question that the team for the 2028 Olympic games in Los Angeles will look quite different. How would the OKC Thunder stars look if they were to make the cut?

With LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant all nearing or eclipsing the age of 40 by the time the next Olympic games roll around, as well as some players not returning, there is the potential for a variety of roster spots to open up for Team USA.

Looking at Chet Holmgren, he will be 26 when it reaches 2028 and will have potentially played five seasons in the NBA. Already in his rookie season he placed second in Rookie of the Year voting, tied for fourth in blocks per game, and was second in total blocks and block percentage.

Chet could serve as the perfect defensive anchor for Team USA, while also being able to stretch the floor with his 37 percent shooting from beyond the arch.

As for Jalen Williams, he is a do-it-all type of guy. In his 2023-24 season, he put up over 19 points a game, shooting over 40 percent from three, and averaged nearly one and a half steals per game. Not to mention, grabbing four rebounds and dishing nearly five assists per game.

J-Dub will also only be 27 years old, and with his tenacity and aggressiveness on both sides of the ball, he would be a nightmare matchup for any country.
