Miami Dolphins make roster moves after injuries hit defense at training camp

More injuries for the Miami Dolphins , more roster moves as the team attempts to navigate a messy training camp and preseason.

The latest? The Dolphins had to send linebackers Grayson Murphy and Cam Brown to injured reserve. To fill the spots, the team signed Wyatt Ray and David Anenih.

Murphy, an undrafted rookie, got some run in the team’s first preseason game and showed some of that upside first displayed during camp before suffering a knee injury. Brown is currently in his first year with the team after coming over from the New York Giants in free agency.

Ray, at least, appears to have some upside as a depth replacement after registering 5.5 sacks last season with the UFL’s San Antonio Brahmas.

The Dolphins could end up designating Murphy and/or Brown to return by the end of the preseason. But it’s a tough situation for a pass-rush that started the summer with Bradley Chubb on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and Jaelan Phillips only just recently getting activated from that list , too.

It hardly stops there, either. The Dolphins just had to make other roster moves , too, after losing an offensive lineman for the year.

For now, the Dolphins have to hope that Chubb and Phillips can form a nice tandem by Week 1 while first-rounder Chop Robinson comes along quickly, too. Otherwise, they will lean on veteran Emmanuel Ogbah for rotational help.
