Liverpool have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili as they prepare for life after Alisson Becker.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are pushing hard to finalize the deal before the transfer window closes on August 30th.

The 23-year-old Georgian international has become a hot prospect following his impressive performances at Euro 2024.

His standout displays have caught the eye of several top European clubs, but it seems Liverpool are determined to secure his signature.

Giorgi Mamardashvili’s La Liga stats for the 2023/24 season:

    Games 37
    Goals Conceded 41
    Expected Goals Against (xGA) 45.2

    Mamardashvili: Liverpool’s future No. 1?

Liverpool sees Mamardashvili as a long-term successor to Alisson, who was linked to a move to Saudi Arabia. The plan, according to Romano, is to sign Mamardashvili this summer and then loan him to Bournemouth for a season or two.

This would allow the young goalkeeper to gain valuable Premier League experience while Alisson continues as Liverpool’s first choice.

Currently, agents are in Valencia trying to negotiate a deal. Valencia reportedly wants €40 million ($44.1m) for their number one, but Liverpool are hoping to strike a deal for slightly less after having an initial bid of €35 million ($38.6m) rejected.

Mamardashvili is keen on the move to Anfield, but as of now, no agreement has been reached between the clubs. With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Liverpool will need to act quickly if they want to secure the Georgian shot-stopper as their goalkeeper for the future.
