The Seattle Seahawks just wrapped up the first of two joint practices with the Tennessee Titans this week. Both NFL teams were sharing a field just north of downtown Nashville as they prepare for their preseason matchup on Saturday evening.

Joint practices are generally more important than preseason games are as far as evaluating rosters and seeing how certain players and position groups compare to live competition. So, let's dive in and see what we can learn from the people who were present at practice. Here are a few takeaways from the beat reporters who were on-hand for both sides.

Byron Murphy II is going to be a problem

The newest star on the roster is first-round draft pick Byron Murphy out of Texas, fresh off his NFL debut against the Los Angeles Chargers this past weekend. While it didn't show up in the box score, Murphy forced the Chargers to expend a tremendous amount of energy to keep him out of the backfield. Murphy frequently drew double and triple teams against LA's front line and still managed a very impressive TFL and he just barely missed a sack.

Today Murphy picked up right where he left off on Saturday night. He was reportedly practically untouchable during one-on-one drills against the Titans' offensive linemen.

The destruction apparently continued when the teams started their 11-on-11 drills.

Jamal Adams was peak Jamal Adams

While they're far from the most important Titans on the team, Seahawks fans will no doubt want to get a glimpse of their two former safeties in action, and they didn't disappoint. Here's a look at Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams stretching during warmups.

Tennessee has Diggs listed as a starter on its unofficial depth chart for this week. Adams is listed one spot below him.

No matter where he is in the pecking order, Jamal Adams is still going to talk trash like he's a first-team All-Pro. When the actual scrimmage started, he was in peak form.

Adams didn't stay on the field long, though. He's reportedly been limited at practice by what the Titans' people are calling "general soreness."

At least it wasn't truly personal. After practice was over Adams and Diggs both went over to greet some of their former teammates.

    George Holani moving on up?

One of the more interesting developments at practice was the apparent ascension of undrafted rookie running back George Holani out of Boise State. He's listed as the number four running back on the depth chart behind Ken Walker, Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh. However, today he was working as part of the starters on offense along with Walker, while McIntosh took reps with the second-string unit.

Both Holani and McIntosh performed well against the Chargers. However, Holani appeared to have just a little more spring in his step. We can't exactly pencil him in at RB3 just yet, but it's something we will monitor moving forward.

    Attendance notes and injury updates

As far as injury updates go, in addition to Charbonnet, inside linebackers Jerome Baker and Jon Rhattigan were among the players who sat out, according to the Seattle Times .

In related news, freshly-signed veteran center Connor Williams was around but is not practicing with the team yet. Meanwhile, criminally underrated wide receiver Tyler Lockett was in pads but was also described as a limited participant.
