The Indianapolis Colts are gearing up for a pair of joint training camp practices with two more preseason games remaining.

After getting some very limited work during the preseason opener against the Denver Broncos , the plan for quarterback Anthony Richardson moving forward has been revealed.

General manager Chris Ballard told 1075 The Fan on Wednesday evening that Richardson is unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals .

Though, he did mention it depends on how the joint practices with the Cardinals go Wednesday and Thursday.

With the expectation that two joint practices will suffice in terms of physicality and reps, the Colts are sticking to a similar plan they had last year in the preseason game following joint practices.

However, Ballard also mentioned the budding star is expected to play the entire first half of the preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, Aug. 22.

This falls in line with what the Colts did during Richardson's rookie season. Reps are Richardson's biggest friend at this point in his career, but the Colts also need to be smart with their prized pick from last year's draft.
