“He’s as good as advertised”: Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola continues to impress

Dylan Raiola has Cornhusker fans ready to believe again. The former 5-star recruit continues to receive praise from what seems like everyone around the conference, poising himself for a big season.

Big Ten Network analyst Howard Griffith gave some positive thoughts on the highly touted freshman quarterback.

"{Raiola} is as good as advertised," Griffith said Thursday afternoon. "I think the maturity he has is filtered throughout the entire offense. And that's not to say they don't have leaders at other positions because that's not the case, but at the quarterback position, he's gotta be a difference maker."

Griffith also mentioned that the team "still has to come together" to support a player who will take his first college snap in about two weeks. Transfer wide receivers Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor will need big senior years to help Raiola ease into the next level.

However, the Cornhusker offensive line will also play a crucial role in Raiola's success this season. Unfortunately, left tackle Teddy Prochazka went down with a knee injury Aug. 6 in training camp, ending his season early. Head coach Matt Rhule has been impressed by left guard Justin Evans and right guard Henry Lutovsky in hopes of breakout seasons for both.

Funny enough, Dylan's father, Donovan, has been the offensive line coach for the Cornhuskers since 2021.

Nebraska's offense has the potential to be one of the more fun to watch this year if all the right pieces fall into place. With all the hype Raiola has gotten this offseason, you can bet your money people will tune in to see him make his season debut on Aug. 31 vs. UTEP.
