One former member of the Chicago Bears is on the hunt for a new opportunity.

Former Bears receiver Chase Claypool has had a roller coaster of a few years and joined the Buffalo Bills in May. He signed a one-year deal with Buffalo for the 2024 season but won't actually see any time with the organization as he reportedly was released on Thursday, according to The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov.

"The Bills released WR Chase Claypool off IR with an injury settlement," Meirov said. "This gives him an opportunity to sign with another team."

Claypool is just 26 years old but has had an interesting few years. He was selected in the second round of the 2020 National Football League Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and looked like a player that could be an important piece for them for the foreseeable future. Claypool had just under 900 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons but hasn't been able to capitalize on the momentum ever since.

Injuries have plagued his young career so far and off-the-field issues as well. He was traded to Chicago in 2022 and appeared in just 10 games overall between the 2022 and 2023 campaigns before being traded to the Miami Dolphins. There were plenty of issues in Chicago before he was dealt to the Dolphins.

Hopefully, he is able to find another opportunity in the near future and get back on track because he still is very young and has plenty of upside.
