AP Cleveland Browns reporter Tom Withers tweeted his assessment of how the two days of joint practices went between the Browns and the Vikings.

There was a lot of publicity about how the Browns' defense dominated the Vikings' offense to the point that Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell confronted Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz about the physicality of the practice; however, not much was discussed on the offensive side until Withers weighed in.

Withers wrote : "I thought Browns won Day 1 against Vikings and Minnesota took Day 2. Cleveland's first-team offense not great yesterday [Thursday].  Watson had a nice TD pass to Jeudy. Still questions for me about his ability to throw down field. Lots of swing outs, underneath stuff."

Deshaun Watson is coming back from season-ending shoulder surgery last November.  Perhaps he is easing himself back into the long passes, or maybe the Browns do not want to give everything away in joint practices.  It is unclear if this is a stepping stone in the new offense being installed by new OC Ken Dorsey. Regardless, if this spills over into the regular season, it is an interesting and potentially concerning observation.

Fans will be able to see Watson in an NFL football game for the first time in 9 months when he takes the field for the final preseason game in Seattle on Saturday, August 24.
