Ahead of the Boston Red Sox's Saturday night meeting with the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards, Alex Cora's team announced a pair of moves.

Boston has activated outfielder/designated hitter Tyler O'Neill from the injured list and optioned infielder Nick Sogard to Triple-A Worcester.

O'Neill, 29, has been out for over two weeks due to an infection in his leg that forced him into the hospital. In 80 games for Boston this year, he's hit .268 with a .900 OPS, 22 home runs and 45 RBIs.

Sogard, 26, was promoted to the big league club for the first time at the beginning of the month to make his MLB debut. He appeared in 12 games for the Red Sox, hitting .227 with a .550 OPS, six RBIs and three stolen bases.

Boston still has plenty of second base depth with Romy Gonzalez, Ceddanne Rafaela, David Hamilton and Connor Wong able to play the position if needed.
