Seattle Seahawks waive 2 defensive rookies to make room for new tight ends

Laboring with multiple injuries at the tight end position this week, the Seattle Seahawks needed to bring in a couple of options. Last night Aaron Wilson reported that the team has signed both Devon Garrison out of Pittsburgh State and Michael Ezeike out of UCLA.

To make room for the two new tight ends on the 90-man offseason roster, the Seahawks had to waive a couple of players. That news just came in, when the team announced the signings of Garrison and Ezeike. Rookie linebacker Devin Richardson from Washington State and cornerback Willie Roberts from Louisiana Tech have been waived.

Richardson only saw action on two special teams snaps in Saturday's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. The week before he played just six defensive snaps against the Los Angeles Chargers, but graded out well at 74.3.

Roberts played nine snaps on defense against the Titans, but he was likely pushed off the roster by the ascension of rookie Dee Williams out of Tennessee, who totaled 68 kick return yards on two attempts and also posted the team's highest grade in coverage this week.

The Seahawks also reportedly worked out former Chargers quarterback Casey Bauman on Sunday but there is no indication that he is signing as of yet.
