Former New York Jets' tight end has ridiculous request for Breece Hall

There's nothing wrong with shooting your shot like former New York Jets tight end Anthony Becht did last week.

Becht, a 2000 first-round draft pick, was photographed with current running back Breece Hall during the Jets' joint practice against the Carolina Panthers . Recently announced as the new color analyst for the team's official radio broadcasts, Becht is also the head coach of the United Football League's St. Louis Battlehawks and he was apparently pursuing a potential upgrade to his running backs room.

Reposting the photo of his conversation with Hall on the social media site now known as X, Becht revealed what was being said during the practice field interaction.

"I believe that’s when I asked Breece to leave the Jets and play for me… by his reaction I think you know the answer..🤣😉" said Becht on X.

Becht has coached spring football each of the past two years in a league that is devoid of superstars and has guided his team to a .700 win regular season win percentage. With Jacob Saylors averaging 4.9 yards per carry as the lead ball carrier, the Battlehawks advanced to the UFL semifinals in 2024.

Meanwhile, Hall has been sensational for the Jets over his first 24 career appearances. He has accumulated 2,262 yards from scrimmage and scored 14 touchdowns while playing behind what has been a patchwork offensive line. He ranked second amongst all NFL running backs in scrimmage yards last year.
