Jets 'overrated' video: Every questionable take from viral clip, from New York pizza to Marvel and barbecue sauce

A common refrain surrounding the Jets entering last season was that New York was being overrated simply because of Aaron Rodgers.

The truth was never fully revealed, thanks to Rodgers' season-ending injury in Week 1, but it was clear from the Jets' porous offensive line play that achieving their Super Bowl goals would have been nearly impossible even with a healthy Rodgers.

Expectations are high for the Jets yet again. Rodgers is back, and New York made a bevy of moves to shore up its offensive line in the offseason. That won't stop some from claiming the Jets, with a quarterback on the verge of 41 years old coming off a major injury, remain overrated.

Jets players are ready to turn the tables on those claims, though.

In a viral video, a handful of Jets revealed what they believe is overrated — and, no, other NFL teams and players weren't included in their answers. In some cases, the responses were even more controversial.

Here's a look at what each player labeled "overrated" in the training camp clip.

Jets 'overrated' video: What each player said

Jets social media is having some fun ahead of what could be the franchise's best season in quite a long time.

Here's the full video and a look at who gave each response.

QB Andrew Peasley, QB Adrian Martinez: "The Office"

Peasley and Martinez have seen the bulk of action under center in the preseason for the Jets with New York looking to preserve Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor, and now we know what they're not doing in their free time. "The Office" is one of the most popular TV shows in America more than a decade after it ended, but Peasley described it as "not funny."

    RB Breece Hall: Marvel

Hall is not a fan of the Marvel superhero-themed movies, which isn't the hottest of takes. Hall instead called himself a "Harry Potter type of guy."

    QB Tyrod Taylor: Fruit

Tyrod Taylor has dealt with some unusual injuries throughout his career, and we might now know one of the reasons. Eat your fruit!

    CB Sauce Gardner: Himself

Gardner, an All-Pro in each of his first two NFL seasons, didn't exactly call himself overrated. "They said I'm overrated. I'm overrated," Gardner told the camera.

    S Jaylen Key: Sushi

This year's Mr. Irrelevant didn't go into detail, but he's probably not the only one who isn't a fan of sushi.

    RB Braelon Allen: Barbecue sauce

Allen was the youngest player in April's draft and therefore the youngest active player in the NFL, which might get him a slight pass for this horrid take.

"Barbecue sauce, maybe? I'll go with barbecue," Allen said.

Allen isn't from a barbecue-centric part of the U.S., nor is he playing in one with the Jets, but it's still an opinion you don't often hear.

    CB Qwan'tez Stiggers: Boneless wings

The rookie cornerback delivered perhaps the most understandable take of the clip when he called boneless wings overrated. It's not an uncommon belief that boneless wings are just chicken nuggets and don't deserve to be called "wings" at all, so Stiggers is playing it much safer than some of the takes still to come.

    TE Neal Johnson: Onions

Johnson was more ready than anyone, immediately answering, "Y'all need to stop with these onions, bruh. Onions are not that good. Y'all need to stop putting onions on everything."

Virtually no one wants to eat an onion on its own, but pushing back on putting onions on other foods might be a step too far.

IYER: Why Jets are smart not to trade Haason Reddick

    LB Anthony Hines: Hamburgers

    Stop.

DE Solomon Thomas: Mac and cheese

Thomas was born in Chicago, but he went to high school in Texas — and doesn't like mac and cheese? Troubling.

    QB Aaron Rodgers: Training camp

After 40 years of life and 19 seasons in the NFL, he's probably right.

CB D.J. Reed: Pizza and French toast

"It's definitely overrated. It's just cheese and bread," Reed said of pizza. That won't go over well in New York (or anywhere, really).

Reed went on to say French toast is "just eggs and bread," which makes you wonder whether the gripe is actually just with bread.

    CB Isaiah Oliver: Watermelon

"They eat it every day after practice. Not that good," the former Falcons starter said.

CB Brandin Echols: New York pizza

    Immediately no.

    OL Kohl Levao: Seafood boil

Not everyone is a seafood fan, but Levao's response hilariously prompted an immediate, "Oh, woah, woah!" from teammate Austin Deculus.

    C Joe Tippmann: Mangos

Tippman and Tyrod Taylor appear to have something in common.

DL Jalyn Holmes: Aaron Rodgers' hygiene

He probably knows better than the rest of us.

    OL Obinna Eze: Fashion

Eze turned around to shout that fashion was overrated, so it seems to be a strongly held belief by the third-year tackle.

    LB Jamien Sherwood: Airplanes

"I don't feel like airplanes are safe," Sherwood said. Fair enough, but the data works heavily against that idea.

    CB Shemar Bartholomew: Video games

Like Peasley and Martinez, we now know what Bartholomew isn't doing in his free time.

    S Al Blades Jr.: Cheese

    Really?

    K Austin Seibert: Whataburger

"Whataburger is a little bit overrated because I'm an In-N-Out guy," Seibert said. Fair enough.

    WR Jason Brownlee: Seafood

Brownlee's take comes with an important note: he's allergic to seafood. Knowing that, it's hard to blame him.

    DL Bruce Hector: Crawfish

Hector's answer produced a hilarious confused reaction from teammate Tanzel Smart, who asked, "Where are you from?"

Hector is from Florida, while Smart is from Baton Rouge, LA. That explains it.
