The Philadelphia Eagles released their final injury report on Wednesday morning, and starting tight end Dallas Goedert was a noticeable addition.

Goedert was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice with an oblique injury. While Goedert has been a full participant at Eagles training camp throughout the summer, he has yet to see the field in the preseason as head coach Nick Sirianni has opted not to play his offensive starters.

Injuries have been an issue for Goedert throughout his six-year tenure in Philadelphia. He was limited to 14 games in 2023 due to a fractured forearm that required surgery. In 2022, he landed on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury. Goedert has only played a full slate of regular season games once in his career, and that was his rookie season in 2018.

Goedert’s absence in practice this week will shed light on the team’s tight end room. Former sixth-round draft pick Grant Calcaterra has been a mainstay in the Eagles’ No. 2 TE spot throughout training camp. The team released veteran C.J. Uzomah on Wednesday, and Albert Okwuegbunam has been out with an abdomen injury.

Rookie E.J. Jenkins, one of the Eagles’ standout players this summer, could be the biggest benefactor. Jenkins was one of the stars of the Eagles’ 14-13 preseason win over the Patriots, playing 31 snaps and hauling in all five of his targets for 47 yards.

As of now, there has been nothing to suggest that Goedert is in danger of missing the season-opener, which is about two weeks away on Friday, Sept. 6, against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.
