Bo Nix was part of an electrifying Oregon last season. The 2023 Ducks averaged the second most points per game with 44.2, only behind Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels and LSU who averaged 45.5 points per game.

Nix’s phenomenal senior campaign led him to be drafted 12th overall by the Denver Broncos. Having selected a quarterback so highly in the draft, it comes as no surprise that Nix was recently named the starter for the Broncos’ week 1 matchup.

The former Duck had two terrific showings in Denver’s preseason games. He threw for 205 yards, two touchdowns, and completed over 75% of his passes. It is unsure if Nix will see some action in the Broncos’ final preseason game, as they host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Looking ahead, other wide receivers will need to step up to help out Nix in his rookie season. Former Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is off to Cleveland to play for the Browns, so Tim Patrick and Josh Reynolds will have much bigger responsibilities alongside Courtland Sutton.

Nix’s week 1 test will be a place that is close to where he played his final two years in college, as the Broncos will travel out west to take on the Seattle Seahawks. We’ve seen Sean Payton work his QB magic with Drew Brees and the Saints in the past, so it will be interesting to see if he can continue that with Nix.
