Pass rush has been a major concern for the Chicago Bears the last two seasons, so the team took a step towards addressing that concern on Friday afternoon.

The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the Bears are sending a sixth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for edge rusher Darrell Taylor.

After missing out on Matthew Judon, who went from the New England Patriots to the Atlanta Falcons, the Bears turned their attention to the talented but inconsistent Taylor.

Taylor, selected by the Seahawks out of Tennessee in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, missed his rookie season due to injury but made a solid debut in 2021 with 6.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.

He had his best season in 2022, posting 9.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Last season Taylor made five starts notching 5.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss. He played the third-most snaps among Seattle's edge rushers.

Seahawks reporter Connor Benintendi writes that Taylor had fallen out of favor in Seattle as he had "often been a liability in run defense and has frequently shown a lack of effort on snaps."

Taylor will join a rotation with Montez Sweat, DeMarcus Walker, and Austin Booker.
