Chelsea eyeing another striker? Maresca hints at late transfer amid Osimhen rumors

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hinted that the club might not be done with their summer spending spree just yet.

Despite having already signed 11 players, Maresca has revealed that the Blues could still be in the market for a new striker before the transfer window closes on August 30.

Chelsea’s current attacking lineup includes Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, and Marc Guiu, but Maresca believes there is room for improvement.

Maresca open to adding more firepower

Speaking to reporters, he said, "If we have the chance to bring in a nine that can help us and make the difference, then we are going to try. Otherwise, we are okay. We do not need to sign players just to sign players. If we sign players and they help us to improve, then for sure we need players. Otherwise, we are happy with the way we are.”

The potential addition of another striker could address one of Chelsea’s key weaknesses, as the club continues to search for a reliable goalscorer.

One name that has been linked with the Blues is Napoli's Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian forward, who reportedly has a £111 million ($145m) release clause, has been a target for Chelsea, but the club has so far been unable to meet Napoli's demands for a permanent transfer.

As Chelsea prepare for their next Premier League match against Wolves on Sunday, the question remains whether they will make a last-minute move for Osimhen or another striker.

With the transfer window ticking down, eyes will be on Stamford Bridge to see if Maresca and his team can secure the firepower they need.
