Ex-NFL WR makes troubling claim for Davante Adams' future with Raiders

After footage of Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams going off on the sideline during a game last season surfaced in the Netflix series "Receiver" in July, that has only added fuel to the fire that the star wideout may not be long for Vegas.

In the clip, Adams is clearly frustrated with the lackluster play of the team's former quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, and says he needs to "get the f--- out of here before I lose my f------ life," referring to the hard hits he was taking when trying to catch the football.

Of course, Garoppolo is no longer with the team and Adams has since come out and said he wants to remain a Raider , but one has to wonder how long it'll be before he wants out if Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell struggle.

Making Adams' future even more murky is the fact that he's set to turn 32 this year and has no more guaranteed money left on his deal, which has two more years on it after 2024.

If things start off poorly for the Raiders, Adams could be a trade candidate. Even if he does end up remaining on the team throughout the entire season, it isn't crazy to think he plays elsewhere in 2025 if Las Vegas doesn't want to oblige what will likely be his desire to get some guaranteed money on those final two years.

While Adams has been positive about his future in Las Vegas, former NFL receiver DeSean Jackson says he has spoken to the star wideout and says Adams is not happy with the Raiders.

“This one’s tough because me and Davante, we’ve talked, and I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that’s ‘Oh, D-Jax said this and said that” but at the end of the day [Davante] isn’t happy,’ Jackson said on the The Herd with Colin Cowherd . “You go from Aaron Rodgers, then you come to the Las Vegas Raiders… and it just didn’t quite work out and so now I just don’t think he’s really that happy there.”

As we've said all offseason, the Raiders have a good enough team that, at the very least, they're going to be competitive enough to not be sellers at the trade deadline, thus moving Adams is unlikely to happen. But when it comes to 2025, all bets are off.
