Red Sox get injured outfielder back in lineup for series finale vs. Diamondbacks

After dropping the first two games of the series , the Boston Red Sox will look to avoid a sweep against the Arizona Diamondbacks in their Sunday afternoon matchup at Fenway Park.

For the meeting, Boston will send Tanner Houck to the mound while Arizona will counter with Merrill Kelly.

Houck has been great for Boston this year, posting a 3.01 ERA (fifth in baseball) and a 1.15 WHIP (tied for 25th) while striking out 135 batters (39th) in 25 starts. He's allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last three outings. Four Diamondbacks have recorded hits against him in their career - Corbin Carroll (1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs), Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (1-for-6), Geraldo Perdomo (1-for-2 with a solo home run) and Eugenio Suarez (1-for-6).

Kelly has been good for Arizona as well. Only pitching in six games so far this season, he's posted a 3.63 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP while striking out 27 batters. He's allowed two or fewer runs in all but one of those outings. Five Red Sox have hits against him in his career - Triston Casas (1-for-3), Romy Gonzalez (1-for-3), Tyler O'Neill (3-for-16 with a home run, four RBIs and a walk), Connor Wong (1-for-2) and Masataka Yoshida (1-for-2 with a walk).
