New NFL free agent QB is obvious signing for Bills

The Buffalo Bills have had issues at quarterback all preseason. Mitch Trubisky played poorly in each of the Bills' first two preseason games and threw an interception against the Steelers .

Anthony Brown and Ben DiNucci played well against the Panthers, but if Buffalo wanted to pick up a more established backup option for Josh Allen, a division rival just let one go.

Mike White was released by the Miami Dolphins, and would be a good pickup for the Bills.

White is 2-5 in his career as a starter with the Dolphins and New York Jets. He has nine touchdowns to 13 interceptions for his career. From what the Bills have seen from Trubisky, there is no reason to give him a roster spot, nor would he garner confidence if and when he would have to enter a game in reserve of Allen.

Other options are available for the Bills if they want to bring in an outside name. Veteran Ryan Tannehill is still a free agent, and would be the best fit for the Bills' offense. He is still athletic in his late 30s, and his ability to take off and run is similar to that of Allen. Regardless, the Bills have options and should act before Week 1.
