Arsenal are set for a busy final few days of the Premier League transfer window as Mikel Arteta makes some last minute changes to his squad.

Spain star Mikel Merino is expected to be announced imminently, after a fee was agreed with Real Sociedad, as the Euro 2024 winner joins La Roja teammate David Raya and Italian international Riccardo Calafiori as summer arrivals.

However, following Arsenal's 2-0 weekend EPL win at Aston Villa, Arteta hinted an injury to Gabriel Jesus could persuade him to bring in another attacker before the window shuts.

Arteta was coy over who that could be, but sales will be required to facilitate a move, with Eddie Nketiah edging closer to the Emirates Stadium exit.

The 25-year-old has consistently struggled to secure a first team role at Arsenal, since breaking through in 2017/18, with just 19 EPL goals scored across 116 majority substitute appearances.

Previous links to Ligue 1 side Marseille did not develop, as Nottingham Forest and Everton also flagging an interest in the England international, with the latter over a rumoured swap for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

With time running out, Arsenal are considering all options on Nketiah, including a sale to EPL rivals Crystal Palace.

As per a report from The Athletic , Palace have reached out Arsenal, after Nketiah's move to Forest broke down. That deal was rumoured to be in the region of £30m ($39.6m) in total, spread across structure payments, but Nketiah opted out.

Palace will need to move quickly to wrap up a deal as Oliver Glasner aims to improve his own forward options following the departures of Michael Olise and Jordan Ayew.
