Titans' Caleb Farley returns to action, lays the wood on kick returner

Former first-round pick and cornerback Caleb Farley finally made his return to the field in the Tennessee Titans ' preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and managed to make a highlight play.

Farley hadn't seen NFL action since the 2022 campaign after he missed all of 2023. He was also unable to play in the first two preseason games because of injury.

And his return came at the right time, as the Titans are set to cut their roster down to 53 by Tuesday and Farley is on the roster bubble. Farley managed to tally two tackles, but one was certainly more notable than the other.

On a kickoff in the third quarter, Farley met the returner with a massive hit that knocked his helmet off. After, the Virginia Tech product was hyped.

With everything Farley has been through, between the injuries and the personal tragedy of losing his father , Titans fans couldn't have been happier to see that.

"Sometimes you don’t even get opportunities to make plays like that," Farley said of his play, according to Nick Suss of The Tennessean . "When it happens like that, it makes you feel like a little kid. A lot of joy and a lot of happiness, especially celebrating with the guys and getting patted on the head. There’s nothing like it."

Now, we wait to see if Farley will make the 53-man roster. In our final prediction for the initial group , we did have Farley as one of the six cornerbacks the Titans keep, so we think he'll get one more shot in Nashville.

"It’s easy. These next two days are easy," Farley said of the upcoming roster cuts. "You can’t really control nothing. I’m just glad I got to come out here and have fun with my guys today. I worked hard these past two weeks to even have the chance to come out here and play. So I’m just glad it worked out."

If he does get cut by the Titans, Farley made it quite clear that he intends to keep playing, saying he's "still got a lot of fire in me," something he showed when he made that play on Sunday.
