Where Las Vegas Raiders sit in NFL waiver wire order for Wednesday

The Las Vegas Raiders began the process of cutting their roster down to 53 players on Monday, and will get to that number by the deadline on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 4 p.m ET.

But the work doesn't stop there and that initial 53-man roster will undergo changes in the days and weeks ahead. General manager Tom Telesco will immediately turn his attention to the waiver wire and free agency to see if he can bring in any recently waived or released players to help shore up remaining holes.

To be clear, players who are cut and have four or more accrued seasons go directly to free agency and can sign with any team. Players with three or less accrued seasons in the NFL are subject to waivers.

After the Tuesday deadline, teams have until noon ET on Wednesday to put in a claim for those players on waivers. All players who clear waivers on Wednesday will become free agents. Once the waiver process is completed, teams will begin putting together their practice squads.

As far as the Raiders are concerned, they have a few positions that could use shoring up, so look for the team to be active following the cutdown deadline, whether that be on the waiver wire, free agency, or both.

Here's a look at where Las Vegas stands in the waiver order going into Wednesday. The order is based on the 2024 NFL Draft order (before trades) through Week 3, when it reverts to 2024 records.
