Packers surprisingly sign former Giants kicker in proposed roster move

The Green Bay Packers still haven’t established who their kicker will be in Week 1.

On Tuesday, that question arose as Green Bay cut Anders Carlson , the Packers’ kicker last season. Carlson has been battling against Alex Hale and Greg Joseph during training camp and preseason for the starting role.

With no indications having surfaced that Green Bay is set on either Hale or Joseph as the starter, the possibility remains that the Packers will venture out onto the free agent market to purchase a serviceable leg.

One possible option for Green Bay is 34-year-old free agent kicker Randy Bullock, who played for the New York Giants in 2023.

Bullock was drafted by the Houston Texans with the No. 161 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. He’s played for seven NFL teams in his career and is one of the most viable free agent options on the market right now.

Will Green Bay give Bullock a call, or will they wait and see what else the waiver wire sends out into the market?

There’s also a chance that the Packers declare that either Hale or Joseph is the guy this week.
