It has been less than 24 hours since the Cleveland Browns made the surprising announcement that Dorian Thompson-Robinson was named the team's QB2.  As a result, trade proposals for presumed backup Jameis Winston signed in place of Joe Flacco in the offseason, are welcomed.

NFL insider Josina Anderson issued a somewhat cryptic late-night social media post with a rumor that Winston could be traded to the Denver Broncos to be reunited with his former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton.  Winston and Payton were together in New Orleans for the 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons.

A quick look at the Broncos' 53-man initial roster shows the team already has three quarterbacks: Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and Zach Wilson.  It does not appear they have an immediate need for a quarterback beyond perhaps a sentimental one for Payton.

The Browns could use some help at running back , tight end, and offensive line.  Injuries and a lack of depth at the tight end position (with David Njoku and Jordan Akins) are problemmatic.

The Broncos lack depth on the offensive line so Winston would not be traded for help in that position group.  They are carrying four running backs and four tight ends.

Could Jameis Winston become a member of the Denver Broncos as Josina Anderson suggests?  Time will tell.
