ESPN's Adam Schefter had more than just the NFL world swirling with a hint of his latest scoop.

Schefter is known for his breaking news in the football world but this time, he wasn't talking about a blockbuster trade or gigantic contract signing.

On Monday's episode of "NFL Live," the ESPN insider went back and forth with show host Laura Rutledge, suggesting he could be withholding a significant piece of information in regards to the next step in Chiefs star Travis Kelce and pop icon Taylor Swift's relationship.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hints at Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift engagement

Schefter has all the information in the world when it comes to the NFL, but he's putting his pop culture ties to the test with his latest suggested report.

On Monday's episode of "NFL Live," show host Rutledge brought up Kelce's recent purchase of an ownership stake in a racehorse named "Swift Delivery."

"Travis Kelce made a big purchase recently — no, not an engagement ring — but it was Swift adjacent," she said before asking the panel what they would name their own racehorse.

Schefter promptly interrupted the segment, teasing information that would be deemed significant to the public eye.

"I have a question. Laura, how do you know that Travis Kelce didn’t buy an engagement ring?” Schefter asked.

"I don't know," Rutledge responded. "Do you know? Are you going to break some big news here?"

If Schefter had the scoop, he didn't appear ready to break it in that moment on live television.

"I'm just saying that you said he didn't buy an engagement ring. And I'm just wondering how you have that information," he said.

"The awkward silence right there speaks volumes," analyst Booger McFarland jumped in. "Do you know something, Schefty? America wants to know."

"All I did was ask a question about how Laura knew he hadn't bought an engagement ring. That's all I was doing," Schefter concluded before Rutledge got the show back on track.

For all the big news stories Schefter has broken over the years, Kelce and Swift's engagement just might be the biggest. Only time will tell if the ESPN insider was staying tight-lipped over a scoop that would have the world of pop culture buzzing.
