Anthony Santander is set to be one of the top free agent sluggers available this offseason. He certainly picked a good time to have a breakout campaign.

The 29-year-old is hitting just .234, but has hit 38 home runs, driven in 86 runs, and posted an .817 OPS in what will likely be his final year in a Baltimore Orioles uniform.

With the offseason looming, Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report listed several fits for the veteran slugger, with the San Francisco Giants being among them.

"The Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals, Mets, and Giants all make sense as suitors for Santander, who should aim to top the five-year, $100 million Nick Castellanos signed with the Phillies before the 2022 season," Kelly wrote.

The Giants made some big moves this offseason when they signed both Jorge Soler and Matt Chapman to bolster their offense. Soler is now with the Atlanta Braves and Chapman is expected to opt out of his contract.

This leaves a potential opening for the Giants to pursue Santander. The team is barely hanging in the National League Wild Card race with a record of 66-66.

In order to get back into contention next season, San Francisco needs to make bold moves again to strengthen their roster. Santander would be a good fit for the Giants.

San Francisco has money to spend, and they have proven that they are willing to spend it, though it hasn't translated into much success lately. Still, it would make sense for them to make a play for Santander.

His market will be competitive, as right-handed sluggers are in high demand, but San Francisco would be a solid fit, especially if they want to win in 2025.
