How Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett and OC Alex Van Pelt can help the Browns in Week 1

Jacoby Brissett was the Cleveland Browns quarterback for just one season.  In 2022, he provided consistency to a team undergoing seismic changes in the quarterback room with the trade and subsequent suspension of Deshaun Watson.

Alex Van Pelt was the Browns offensive coordinator for Kevin Stefanski 's first four seasons as the Browns' head coach. He worked with the many quarterbacks who played for the Browns from 2020-2023.

Brissett and Van Pelt have reunited in New England.  With Brissett named as the Week 1 starting quarterback for the Patriots, the duo could do their former team a big favor when the NFL season gets underway.

The Patriots first game is on the road at Cincinnati. As members of the Browns, Brissett and Van Pelt enjoyed great success against the Bengals.  It is worth noting that Van Pelt's success could be somewhat related to spending two seasons in Cincinnati (2018-2019) in the pre-Joe Burrow era as the quarterbacks coach.

Brissett was the winning quarterback in the Halloween 2022 game in Cleveland against the Bengals.   Van Pelt has a 6-2 record as a member of the Browns coaching staff against Cincinnati.

With their new team to help their old team, Jacoby Brissett and Alex Van Pelt need to continue their Cincinnati dominance in Week 1.
