    Red Sox to play starting catcher at a different position on Saturday vs. Tigers

    After the Boston Red Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-5 at Comerica Park on Friday, the two teams will meet again on Saturday.

    For the matchup, Boston will send Nick Pivetta to the mound while Detroit will counter with Tarik Skubal.

    Pivetta has been all right for Boston this season, posting a 4.61 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP while striking out 135 batters in his 21 outings (20 starts). He's allowed three or fewer runs in three of his last four starts. He's faced six different Tigers in his career, but he's never allowed a single hit to any of them.

    Skubal has been incredible for Detroit in his 26 starts this season, posting a 2.58 ERA (second in baseball) and a 0.95 WHIP (second) while striking out 193 batters (third). He's allowed three or fewer runs in 11 of his last 12 outings. Five Red Sox have recorded hits against him - Triston Casas (1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs), Rafael Devers (2-for-6), Jarren Duran (1-for-3 with two RBIs), Rob Refsnyder (2-for-6 with a home run and two RBIs) and Connor Wong (1-for-2).
