Le'Veon Bell takes issue with NFL analyst's silly claim about Steelers' Russell Wilson

While it's certainly fair to question the Pittsburgh Steelers ' quarterback situation with the presence of Russell Wilson as the starter and Justin Fields as the backup, nobody can sit there and say the Steelers aren't in a much better spot than they were last year.

Kenny Pickett was a disaster, full stop. You can chalk some of that up to Matt Canada being a terrible offensive coordinator, but in no world is Pickett blameless for his struggles in Pittsburgh.

Despite that, CBS Sports' Pete Prisco believes that Wilson, a Super Bowl winner and nine-time Pro Bowler, is only "slightly" better than Pickett. He also believes the Steelers are the worst team in the division going into the 2024 campaign.

Those two takes, of course, drew plenty of ire from Steelers fans, and even former running back Le'Veon Bell weighed in. Bell didn't go into detail, but his tweet in response made it quite clear he doesn't subscribe to Prisco's thinking about Wilson.

Yes, Wilson had a tough two years with the Denver Broncos , but if the Steelers had Wilson's 66.3% completion rate, 3,070 passing yards and 26 scores to nine picks last season, they at least would've won a few more games, and it's not crazy to think they could've won the division.

Knowing that and the stability that head coach Mike Tomlin brings every single year, it's wild that analysts like Prisco are so down on Pittsburgh ahead of this season. It should be the opposite.

At this point, Prisco's take should be anything but unexpected. After all, the national media has been on an anti-Wilson campaign for a while now, and it has gotten to the point where it's obsessive and almost feels personal.
