Jim Harbaugh torches idea that he's hard to get along with

In his many stops as a head coach, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh probably hasn't seen eye to eye with every single player and member of the organization he has come across. Guess what? That's true for anyone.

Some of his former players with the San Francisco 49ers have spoken about their time playing under Harbaugh, giving less than flattering remarks. Former offensive lineman Alex Boone had this to say on HBO's " Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel " back in 2015.

"I think he just pushed guys too far. He wanted too much, demanded too much, expected too much. You know, 'We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this.' And you'd be like, 'This guy might be clinically insane. He's crazy.'"

Last summer, Joe Staley, a six-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman for the 49ers, had this to say in an interview with Mojobreak Media .

"Obviously, his personality rubs people [the wrong way], he's hard to get along with consistently. If you're a Harbaugh guy, you're in his camp and if you're not, you're very against him."

Harbaugh seemed to butt heads with the front office toward the end of his tenure, leading to a surprising dismissal in 2014. Staley leaned into that in the same interview.

"Just looking back on that era of 49ers football, I had never had so many conversations with ownership, with general management, with head coaches about stuff that did not apply to football. It was just like, 'Why am I talking about this? Keep it about football.' That was the situation we were in."

In speaking with Kris Rihm of ESPN, Harbaugh addressed the idea that he's difficult to get along with.

Jim Harbaugh's success speaks for itself

When Harbaugh was a player for the Chicago Bears, his head coach was Mike Ditka, a guy who didn't exactly try to make friends with his players or members of the media, but he won the only Super Bowl the Bears have ever won.

Harbaugh is cut from the same mold. Some players may not respond favorably to all of his ideas, but his success can't be denied. He took that 49ers team to its first Super Bowl in almost 20 years. He has had success at all of his college stops as well, including guiding Michigan to the national championship last year.

Chargers fans know they have the right guy leading the charge.
