    3 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 3 for New England

    The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now three days away.

    Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

    Since 1960, six players have worn No. 3 in New England, and with three days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

    WR DeMario Douglas: Present

    • Appeared in 14 games for New England in his first season, catching 49 passes for 561 yards
    • Expected to be a top receiver for the team in 2024

    LB Mack Wilson: 2023

    • Appeared in 34 games for New England over two seasons, recording 73 tackles (six for a loss), six quarterback hits, five sacks, four passes defensed and three forced fumbles
    • Also played for the Cleveland Browns

    DB Jabrill Peppers: 2022

    • Appeared in 32 games for New England over his first two seasons, recording 138 tackles (seven for a loss), eight passes defensed, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, two quarterback hits, one sack and a forced fumble
    • Also played for the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns
    • Expected to be one of the Patriots starting safeties in 2024

    K Stephen Gostkowski: 2006-19

    • Appeared in 204 games for New England over 14 seasons, making 87.4% of field goals and 98.3% of the extra points
    • Won three Super Bowls and made two All-Pros and four Pro Bowls with the Patriots
    • Set the all-time scoring record in New England
    • Also played for the Tennessee Titans

    K Matt Bahr: 1993-95

    • Appeared in 35 games for New England over three seasons, making 76.4% of his field goals and 100% of his extra points
    • Also played for the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants (won a Super Bowl), Pittsburgh Steelers (won a Super Bowl), Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers

    P Rich Camarillo: 1981-87

    • Appeared in 85 games for New England over seven seasons, averaging 42.6 yards per punt
    • Made a Pro Bowl with the Patriots
    • Also played for the Phoenix Cardinals (made one All-Pro and four Pro Bowls), Houston Oilers, Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Rams

    P Bruce Barnes: 1973-74

    • Appeared in 23 games for New England over two seasons, averaging 37.4 yards per punt
