The Washington Commanders are trying to turn the page from the Daniel Snyder era.  With new ownership led by Josh Harris, a new coach in Dan Quinn, and an exciting rookie starting quarterback in Jayden Daniels, fans are eager for the Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, a controversy has surfaced surrounding the team's VP of content. Rael Enteen has been the VP of content for the past four years, a holdover from the Snyder regime.  Until now, Washington's social media team has been highly regarded, and Enteen had a good reputation.

Enteen was recorded making inflammatory comments about his team, the fans, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and more. He was reportedly on an undercover date with an O'Keefe Media Group journalist.

He labeled the Commanders players anti-gay, called Jerry Jones a racist, and said Goodell was a "$50 million puppet."  Commanders fans were called "mouth breathers" by Enteen on the video.

Commanders fans' optimism has been at an all-time high in 2024.  It is not clear if this will create a distraction for them or the team.

Two surprises about this situation are: that someone in his position would be careless enough to share these thoughts publicly, and that the Commanders did not fire him immediately upon seeing the video.
