Browns waive former third-round draft pick after he practices with team on Thursday

On Thursday after he participated in practice, the Cleveland Browns waived wide receiver David Bell.

Bell was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.  He played in 31 games during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

He was also a perfect target for Joe Flacco in the Browns playoff game against the Texans.  Bell caught 100% of Flacco's pass attempts to him.  He caught eight passes for 54 yards and gained two first downs in the game.

Bell's best connection was with Flacco who threw him his first career touchdown on a fourth down play on December 10, 2023, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bell made the 53-man-roster but some questioned how many opportunities he would get in 2024 with Jerry Jeudy joining the Browns in 2024.
