Former USC quarterback gets No. 13 retired at LA Memorial Coliseum

Caleb Williams was electrifying with USC. The Washington D.C. native threw for over 8000 yards and 72 touchdowns in just two seasons with the Trojans. He also was the ninth USC player to receive the Heisman Trophy in 2022.

His accomplishments in Los Angeles lead him to another prestigious milestone— getting his number retired at LA Memorial Coliseum. Legendary USC running back Reggie Bush also got his No. 5 retired at USC, as he also won a Heisman Trophy in 2005.

Williams’ success in college led him to be the No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. This season, he will have no shortage of weapons, as Chicago gave wide receiver DJ Moore some help by adding Keenan Allen in free agency, as well as drafting former Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick.

USC head coach Lincoln Riley has done a fantastic job working with quarterbacks, having led Williams, Baker Mayfield, and Kyler Murray all to Heisman Trophy winning seasons. With new QB Miller Moss impressing many in the Trojans’ win against LSU in Las Vegas, we’ll see if Riley can make some more magic happen on offense.
