The Boston Red Sox are set to have most of their expected starting lineup back on the field on Saturday for the first time since April.

According to NESN's Jahmai Webster , the Red Sox are activating shortstop Trevor Story from the injured list and optioning infielder Mickey Gasper back to Triple-A Worcester.

Story suffered a shoulder injury diving for a ball back in April, forcing the shortstop to have surgery that was expected to end his season. However, he's recovered quickly and has been doing well during his rehab assignment (hitting .375 with an .813 OPS, two RBIs and a stolen base in 16 at-bats over four games with Worcester).

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Story could be back at shortstop for the middle game of the series against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday, and Ceddanne Rafaela will likely be the team's majority starter at second base with Enmanuel Valdez seeing time there as well.

Gasper, 28, has appeared in 10 games for Boston this season, but he's yet to get his first major-league hit in 12 at-bats. However, he has been on base, drawing three walks.
