Los Angeles Chargers Week 1 inactives: Taylor Heinicke, several rookies highlight list

The Los Angeles Chargers will face the Las Vegas Raiders in the opener for the 2024 NFL season on Sunday. These players have been listed as inactive for the game:

Justin Eboigbe, DT

Taylor Heinicke, QB

Jordan McFadden, OL

Brenden Rice, WR

Tarheeb Still, CB

Kimani Vidal, RB

With Heinicke out, Easton Stick will serve as the backup quarterback to Justin Herbert. Chargers fans will hope they don't see Stick have to enter the game.

It's a bit of a surprise to see Kimani Vidal on this list. His inactive status blows up one of our bold predictions but it also means that Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins will shoulder the entire load in the rushing game.

Jordan McFadden, once teased as a fullback for the team, is a healthy scratch. Defensive lineman Scott Matlock was named the team's fullback this week and Jim Harbaugh has said he will play both sides of the ball.

The Chargers and Raiders are set to kick off at 1:05 pm PT.
