Will Levis doesn't mince words about awful pick-6 in Titans loss to Bears

The Tennessee Titans looked to be cruising to victory after taking a 17-3 lead over the Chicago Bears into halftime, but the wheels completely came off over the final two quarters and quarterback Will Levis was a big cause of that.

Levis turned the ball over three times in the second half alone, with one fumble and two interceptions. One of them was a pick-six and amounted to one of the worst decisions you will ever see a quarterback make.

Levis' second interception came on the Titans' final offensive series, which sealed the deal for Chicago. The Kentucky product completed 19-of-32 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown to two picks.

“It’s gut-wrenching. It’s tough,” Levis said, per John Glennon of Nashville Post . “I feel like, I can’t remember a loss in my career where I feel like I blatantly... kind of handed it over to them, and it’s hard for me to deal with that. But we know it’s a team effort. There’s things across the board we can point at and look at.”

As far as his pick-six was concerned, Levis didn't mince words about it.

“Just a bonehead play," Levis admitted. "I think recency bias from getting away with it the last time I did it in a game. Just trying to throw it in the dirt, and when you’re getting taken down, you don’t know what’s going to happen to the ball as it comes out.”

“He was trying to get it out of his hand and just got in a tough spot going to his left and couldn’t get anything on it,” head coach Brian Callahan said of the play. “But we can’t have that. We can’t have an interception for a touchdown when we’re up 17-16 at midfield. The way our defense was playing, it’s killer. It’s killer.”

While Levis was certainly the biggest issue in the Titans' loss, he definitely wasn't the only one. Tennessee had multiple special teams lapses, including a blocked punt that Chicago returned for a touchdown.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, the defense played well and didn't allow a single touchdown, which only makes the loss more frustrating.

Levis will look to rebound from his nightmare start to the season in Week 2 when the Titans host the New York Jets .
