What a tough moment for Green Bay. The Packers quarterback Jordan Love was injured during the final seconds of the NFL Friday Night Opener against the Eagles. It had been a very close showdown between the two teams. Both teams exchanging blows, then in the fourth quarter things took a very unfortunate turn.

In the final seconds of the game, Jordan Love gets brought down by Jalen Carter. Carter wraps Jordan up below the waist by grabbing at Love’s calf and near his knees. In the next instant, Jordan is down on the ground, laid out, in obvious pain.

For NFL fans this injury immediately seemed like deja vu. If you recall at the beginning of last season, another quarterback went down. Remember Aaron Rodgers?

Therefore, seeing Love take a hit in Game one hits close to football home. Nevertheless, how bad is this particular injury? Is it as serious as the Rodgers scare last year?

Well, fortunately Jordan was spied on the sidelines walking on his own. And putting weight on his leg. However, of course, one will not fully know the extent of the injury until a MRI can be conducted and assessed.

Yet, upon observing the replay of the late game incident. It looks as though Love’s knee pops out of place. There is definitely some shifting going on in his knee as the tackle is being completed. Which kind of makes one think… MCL? Also, looks as though Love’s ankle gets rolled. But what would a professional doctor have to say in regards to this injury?

After the game, Dr. Jesse Morse MD who practices family and sports medicine; while specializing in regenerative medicine of knee, shoulder and hip injuries. Mentioned a few of his thoughts on what Love could possibly be facing. Morse reviewed footage of Jordan’s injury and came to the following conclusion. He states,

“Jordan Love. Appears to be a left leg injury.

I’ve reviewed the video multiple times and there are a couple different possible injuries, it’s not super clear at the moment.

    Most concerning: ACL tear

This is supported by a ‘pivot shift’ where the knee appears to shift/slightly buckle, usually this happens when the ACL is torn.

The MCL is also at risk here.

Finally, his left ankle is vulnerable to a high-ankle sprain.

I wish him the best of luck & hope we have great news tomorrow.”

We feel the same as Dr. Morse. We wish for the best for Jordan Love, he is a great, exciting player to watch. And as more details come in tomorrow we will be sure to keep you updated and informed.
